Volunteers for this role can be used for many different areas in the center. This is a role that if you have a passion or a skill that you would like to share with the participants at the center you can share it through a class. It can be a workout class, craft class, or an education class. We also have small jobs that can be done throughout the centers such as being a bingo caller or scan lunch cards at lunch time.
Volunteers in this role will be assigned to the reception area of a senior center to assist participants and center staff with daily operations. The importance of this role is to meet and greet participants with a smile and make them feel welcome.
This team helps get meals ready for our Meals on Wheels program. Portioning meals into trays and getting bags ready for Meals on Wheels delivery volunteers. This team also can choose to stay and help serve lunch to our congregate lunch participants!

A SHIIP volunteer will meet one-on-one with clients to provide helpful information regarding Medicare plan decisions.
